SHARON ROSS-WADE
VOCALIST - MUSICIAN - EDUCATOR
A native of Dallas Texas, Sharon Ross-Wade and her family migrated to Los Angeles California before her first birthday. She began her musical journey at the age of 8 years old as a featured vocalist, at the St. Paul Church of God in Christ, Pastored by her father Rev. H. C. Ross. By age 12, Young Sharon would began directing St. Paul's 100 Voice Mass Choir, which was featured on the churches Sunday evening live radio broadcast. Some of the who’s who of Gospel and R&B music soon begin dropping in to be among the standing room only, high-spirited congregation. One Sunday evening, legendary King of Gospel, Singer/Producer Rev. James Cleveland was in attendants and was so moved by the choir, he wanted to present them to the world… this resulted in a multi-album recording contract with the worlds #1 Gospel record company (Savoy Records) At age 14, young Sharon made her recording debut, performing a duet with Rev. Cleveland on a song entitled “He done it all” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65clrGrykAI Soon after, she began traveling and sharing the stage with some of Gospel music’s A LIST performers, names like, Rev. James Cleveland, Andre Crouch, Edwin & Walter Hawkins, The Clark Sisters, and countless others.
Sharon’s God-given gift, and strong gospel foundation would prepare her for the next chapter of her musical Journey.
After performing a crowd moving rendition of “Precious Lord” during a Sunday afternoon service at the Cornerstone Institutional Baptist Church, Pastored by Reverend James Cleveland, 19 year old Sharon was approached by a representative of the legendary Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Soon after, she was hired as a full-time background singer for Ms Franklin, and just like that, her career as a professional background singer began.
Sharon was blessed to travel the world over, sharing the stage and recording studio with such legendary performers as Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin (1976-1986), Graham Nash(of Crosby Stills and Nash), Rev. James Cleveland, Charles W. May, Joseph K. Westmoreland, Stevie Wonder, Barry White, the
Clara Ward Singers; Command performances at the White House, Royal Albert Hall (London, England), Bob Hope’s USO, the legendary Motown 25 anniversary show, Diana Ross’s historic Central Park Concert, the award winning Broadway Musical “The Gospel at Colonus”, and much more.

Since 2005 Sharon has dedicated her time in her local community, producing Children Music Workshops, directing Christmas Pageants and Vacation Bible School Music, producing Annual Concerts, community fund raisers, volunteering in Community Theater, performing at Senior Living Centers, and many more community activities.
In 2024 Sharon established her own family entertainment service (Ross Wade Entertainment) to honor and preserve her family’s rich inheritance of music, spoken word and a life of community service for generations to come.
Sharon often chooses themes of faith, love, and hope… her sound is deeply rooted in the gospel tradition, encompassing all forms of soul music, including, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz etc. Currently Sharon is focusing most of her time on production development with her daughter Myracle Wade, for the projects
“Time to Sing” and the “Soul Food Music Festival”
